Alexis Sanchez Future In Doubt Following Furious Reaction To Jose Mourinho

Manchester United were stunned by West Ham, losing 3-1 as Alexis Sanchez watched on from the stands.

And it leaves United gaffer Jose Mourinho facing yet another problem following a public bust-up with Paul Pogba.

Mourinho failed to get the best out of his players against the Hammers and the club now sit 9 points behind Manchester City who top the Premier League table.


The Mirror report that Sanchez made his feelings clear to backroom staff about the snub for the match at the London Stadium.

And he is also said to have confessed he regrets his move to Old Trafford to former Arsenal team-mate Lucas Perez in the tunnel.


The Chilean has failed to impress this season, failing to score in any matches so far.

That is despite not featuring at the World Cup this summer and coming off the back of a full pre-season with Man United.

Before the match, Jose explained his decision to pick Anthony Martial instead of Sanchez.

“Look for how many months are people asking for Martial, Martial, Martial and saying how Alexis isn’t playing well enough,” he emphasised.

“This week it was time to agree and leave Sanchez out.

“I’ve no complaints about the player’s attitude. [Robert] Snodgrass came to the field with an incredible attitude, you need that genuine humility.

“There are certain qualities that you either have or you do not have.”

The Red Devils could struggle to offload Alexis Sanchez if the 29-year-old demands to leave though due to his mammoth wages.

The former Arsenal man earns £500,000-a-week at Old Trafford following his move from the Emirates back in January.

Jose Mourinho’s side returns to action tomorrow night in the Champions League when they take on Valencia at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese could choose to restore Sanchez to his starting line-up.
