ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE PART 2
Today is 4th, November, 2016. I will continue from where I stopped last week on “academic excellence”.
PRINCIPLE OF “THE EARLIER THE BETTER” : well, to get good grades and nothing but good grades, we cannot but adopt the principle of the earlier, the better. What does the principle imply? A friend once told me how guys on campus get ladies. He said what they do is ‘get the fresh students (i.e 100 level students) immediately they resume before the get exposed to the university system’.
Another analogy is the method adopted by fellowships and virtually all other social organisation on campus.  What they do is “CATCH THEM YOUNG”. Have you ever thought of what this mean? You say catch them because they are young? No! No!! No!!! It simply means catch them before thry become difficult to catch.
The teo analogies above can equally be applied to achieve ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE. What this means is that, you have to attack your courses the earlier, the better, before they become quite difficult to to tackle. When you read your books early, you will know every hidden fact therein. These facts, stick to you and you tend to carry them all along until the examination time. Read up the materials, read up extras on internet and add all these to what you could gather in class and you will find yourself solving puzzles that may arise on the course.
To attain ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, you need to understand, adopt, apply and practicalize the principle of the eralier, the better .
