ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE (PART 1 )

Well, it is important to be the best than to regret of not being the best. What does this mean? It is better to work well and read well when it is time, than to regret of the time wasted.
If you ask someone "what do you have in courseX? He says E and someone else who you asked the same question says A". What do you think is the difference between the two students? Do you say brilliancy? Oh!! No!!, that must have been as result of the proper application of the principles of academic excellence.
Here, let's discuss the four basic ways to achieve good grades academically.
PRINCIPLE OF 100 PERCENT
When I wrote my first jamb, I had above 180, but below 200. My father called me and said "son, if you want to climb a tree, you aim at the top, so that if you fall, you will land in the middle. If you keep aiming at the middle, if you fall, you are coming down". I kept this in my heart till I wrote my second jamb with above 200 and below 250(you want to know my score?). I think I got that because I aimed at 300. If I had aimed 400, I would have been another another case entirely because my score would definitely be overwhelming
Now, for you to get it right academically, you have to aim at 100 percent and not the best. Why not the best? This is because, the best student in a class may not be the best student i.e the best student in a department may be that with cgpa of 1.02(laugh).
If you aim at 100 percent, even if you want to fall, you can fall to 80 percent, but aiming at B will only bring nothing but C or D and aiming at C will bring you nothing but D or E. You have to "THINK BIG". WHEN YOU THINK BIG, YOU WILL BECOME BIGGER.

Watch out for part 2 next week
